I’m Sorry – What Does Your Brain Think?

Our words are so important.  Our brains process so much information on so many levels. And, sometimes they take what we say literally, especially when we no longer even think about the meaning of the words we are using because they are so common and culturally ingrained.

Take the words “I’m sorry”.  How often do you use those words to express comfort, condolences, empathy, sympathy, and/or compassion?  How often do you hear those words in movies or on television?  Often.  I’m sorry.  So simple yet with the capacity to impart so many different levels of feeling.

The thing is, how do you know that your brain is not taking the words literally?  I’m sorry.  No, you’re not.  You’re awesome.  But, you may be sorry about something or that something happened or didn’t happen.  To say “I am sorry that _______” or “I am sorry about _______” may carry vastly different information to the storage and cataloguing areas of your brain than “I’m sorry”.  You just don’t know, do you?  Personally, I’d rather be safe than sorry (couldn’t help myself!).

So, during the holidays when you are catching up with people you may not see often and hearing their stories, think before you say “I’m sorry”.  You may really wish that something hadn’t happened to them or have such compassion for what they are going through.  Try a different expression this time.  Culturally, we automatically assign feelings and value to those two words.  We do the same when we expand on them to identify what we have those feelings about.

You can learn a new trick!  I have faith in you!  Be aware unless you dare – dare to possibly manifest the results of your brain believing that you are a sorry piece of work.  Because, that isn’t you and you know it.  But, beliefs are tricky.  You can have them running in the background impacting your life and have no clue they are there.  In fact, energy test “I’m sorry”.  Good for you if you get a “no” on that one!  Let’s keep it that way!

Enjoy your time with family and friends and keep yourself safe and not sorry.

Holiday Downloads About Family Relationships

In case you missed the blog post offering ThetaHealing® energetic downloads to help you navigate, understand, and actually enjoy your time with family and friends during the holidays, I’d like to offer them again.  I have them on my Theta Healing Connect website.

Many people find that they become more stressed during the holidays and it’s not always about the shopping and parties. It’s about family relationships and discord, long-standing disagreements, and unhealthy feelings directed at certain family members.  Add to that the feelings associated with the expectations for family interactions, and stress is likely only one of the results.

When you are able to stay in a space more connected to your own Divinity through forgiveness of self and others and opening the heart to see the cause of the discord, usually fear of some type, then you can be an instrument of change by “merely” being yourself.  By raising your vibration and holding love as the focus no matter what the immediate situation, you automatically offer everyone the opportunity to shift and change their own vibration.  Given time, molecules will automatically resonate with other nearby molecules of the highest vibration.  That’s science.  That’s also why spiritual teachers suggest that you surround yourself with people who uplift you and bring you joy and peace.  Your own vibration (presuming it is lower) will raise to their vibration while in their presence.  If your vibration is higher, you offer that gift to others.  Have you ever noticed how, when taking a spiritually oriented class, you feel so good while in class and immediately after, but that often it dissipates over time?  That’s why.  What you want to learn how to do is to keep your own vibration at a high level.  That way, you can enjoy that “so good” feeling all the time.  It’s more than possible.  In fact, it can be easy if you just stick with it.

Begin by watching your thoughts.  Every time you notice a thought that is not based in love, one that is negative in any way, say “cancel, clear, delete” to yourself and see it explode or get wiped away with a cloth (whatever visual you like best to represent the action).

Then focus your mind and feelings on your heart.  Feel your heart expand.  Feel yourself send a steady stream of unconditional love (and note that I said “unconditional” love!) to those you see and/or think about.  Try it at the grocery store.  What color is that stream of love to you?  You might see it as pink.  See the beautiful pink sparkling energy go to a person you see in the grocery store.  Watch as it surrounds them and goes to their heart.  Then watch to see if you notice a change in them.  Do they suddenly smile?  Is the frown gone?  Do they begin to hum?  Practice this.  It’s fun.  It does no harm and you are not imposing on their free will.  You will find you get so good at it that you begin to do it automatically!  Talk about raising your vibration!

You can do these two exercises while you are talking to family or sitting watching football with them or while cooking – whatever.  You are also then being proactive instead of reactive and that also raises your vibration.  You become aware of your co-Creative nature.  You become aware of how you begin to manifest a different response in people.  And why is that?  Because as you raise your vibration, lower vibrations are no longer attracted to yours!  A win-win in my book!

So, beautiful souls, go forth into the depth of your families and close friends and beam them!  Play with this.  Enjoy this!  You’ll quickly get really good.  I know you will.
