As many of you may know, my peacock was recently bitten by what I will call a coyote. Who could blame the coyote? Here was this Thanksgiving size bird, on the ground, obviously very pleased with himself and showing off, not paying attention… Coyotes have to eat too. Around here, their habitat is rapidly shrinking as are their easy food sources. Here was a gift from heaven! Way too good to pass up… The coyote didn’t even want to leave after the peacock flew out of reach and people were yelling at him. “Really? I’m just trying to get a good meal for the day!” I can imagine him thinking.
Many people sent love and healing to him which was greatly appreciated. In return, I’d like to share what I discovered from the experience. I hope that in sharing how I came to the conclusions that I did, that it will help you to see the self-exploration process that is so prominent in ThetaHealing® and how you can use any situation to find hidden beliefs.
Typically, when I work with a person’s pet, the pet has taken on all or part of the energy of a situation for their owner to lessen their burden. If you clear up the issue with the owner, the pet issue typically disappears. This peacock has been my pet for many years. He has many safe locations to hang out, but he is free to roam as he chooses. He is about 20+ years old; they usually live to about 18. He is blind in one eye but still exceptionally handsome for an elderly gentleman! We know each other well.
So…. I decided to look at what may be going on with me that would be reflected in this situation. I had already released him of any agreements to take on anything for me. However, he does have free will and can choose to do it anyway. I began by looking at what I believed happened. My peacock was attacked. I asked myself where in my life I felt attacked. I couldn’t think of anything. I wasn’t feeling attacked in any way. I energy tested “I am attacked.” and “I feel attacked.” just to be extra sure and got “no”. What now?
I began to look at the pattern of thinking that goes with an attack of any kind. It’s human nature to want to blame (until you change that). And, if you follow that back to the ultimate one responsible, you find Creator/God/Allah/etc. That’s because for eons, through religion and culture, many are taught and conditioned to think and believe that God will protect us and God will be there for us. When we are attacked, we wonder – if not consciously, then subconsciously – where was God? Why wasn’t I protected. I’m a good person. Why didn’t God come? Has God abandoned me? Am I worthy to have God protect me? And, if you believe any of that, you would also quite likely have the same beliefs of your soul and your higher self. In some cases, you may find that as you come to know God in all life, then there is a transference of the attacker to God. Hence God attacked my peacock!
There are several things happening here. First, as you come to understand that you are part of All There Is, as is all life, then you are part of all life as well. The mind understands this on some levels but, it can cause issues with logic when the emotions come into play. And, even if all your beliefs and feelings are aligned with you being a part of All There Is and all life, if you haven’t pulled the pattern to automatically assign blame and disconnected from all that in mass and collective consciousness, your subconscious mind can generate new beliefs that are related. Coyotes have to eat and, around here, their habitat is shrinking. I didn’t blame the coyote for doing what was natural and instinctual. So, who else was there? Well….. there was God I evidently thought on some level of my BEing – surely not consciously.
When I asked myself why I could possibly go there as a chain of thought, I clearly saw the outstanding ingrained pattern of looking for someone or something to blame. Ouch! You see, I cleared out much of that when I was a ThetaHealing newbie. I cleared beliefs and feelings, but not patterns – and I certainly didn’t know to disconnect from mass and collective consciousness thinking. So all this time, my beliefs were in alignment with my conscious thinking but, under the surface, laid the pattern – the neural network path directly back to God as the ultimate source of all pain and suffering because it even happened at all. Yikes!
So, you see, my beautiful peacock gave me a beautiful gift! I would have preferred to have had this come to light in another more harmonious way. However, here is how it came. Currently when I work on things, I do release old non-serving patterns and I do disconnect from related mass and collective consciousness. Yet, there were some that never got cleared originally and never connected into other clearings enough to automatically resolve and clear. My beautiful bird showed me a major one. If your subconscious blames God for anything that ever isn’t perceived as perfect, then you set yourself up for a lot of inner conflict! Oh my! It would be like an inner tug-of-war. Who needs that?!
So my friends, use every opportunity to learn and to explore what you think and feel. If a loved one is experiencing something that is painful or not seen as wonderful, take that opportunity to explore if there are any ways you may need to adjust your own thinking. There may not be. But, you may find the hidden gem – the mother lode of underlying beliefs. What a gift it is when that happens! But, to have it happen with grace and ease, you have to be willing to take the time to explore how you feel and what you think about things. It’s so worth it!
Infinite gratitude to those of you who helped ease my peacock’s pain and trauma as he went through this experience. He is back ruling his roost and being his beautiful self. Yea! And, perhaps with a remembrance to pay attention when he is trying to attract the ladies… it is springtime you know, the time for love (oh! another great one to check out – is springtime the best time of year for love? It should be no! Anytime of the year is the best time of year for love! That’s how you catch culturally ingrained beliefs that you don’t even know you have!).
From my heart to yours, from my soul to yours… Mahalo
